David Byrne Creates New Bike Racks for Brooklyn Academy of Music
David Byrne, the Talking Heads frontman turned visual artist, noticed a problem with the bike racks at the popular culture venue BAM. “I get to BAM fairly often, and the existing racks are often full, so it’s great that there will now be more,” Byrne said.
The racks, which spell out “pink crown” and “micro lip,” are placed on either side of the main entrance at 30 Lafayette Avenue, though they will be changed as required (whatever that means).
His description of his concept for the racks is a little “who cares” IMHO but more bike racks is a good thing for everyone!
